On Thursday, August 26th, a historic event for South Läänemaa sports took place, as the Kasari I Two Bridges Run was held for the first time. The race distance was 1600 meters and it was dedicated to the closed Kasari School, which has been attended by several top Estonian track and field athletes. Participants came from 13 different locations, including Viljandi, Tallinn, and Kiviõli, with a total of 48 runners starting in seven age categories.

Highlights

  • The run was opened by the last principal of Kasari School, Maidu Leever, who spoke about the school's history.
  • Participants were awarded medals, and trophies were given to the top three in each age group.
  • In the evening, a lively concert took place on the old bridge featuring Marek Sadam and the band Sadamasild.
